BUMPER BOWLING...
What do you do when your summer sun plans are canceled by downpours that because of burn bans and crazy dry conditions you just have to be thankful for?...well, this! Mom and I headed to the movies to watch ICE AGE 3 and I must say we enjoyed ourselves immensely. I loved the dinosaurs and of course all the silly actions taken by the sloth. I was thrilled to finally be introduced to the new character, a weasel. I have his toy figure from McDonald's and it was driving me nuts not to know who he was. Our day could not stop there though. We ate our picnic style lunch mom packed in the van as we headed to the bowling alley.
More than a movie, I was thrilled to get my little hands on a 6 pound ball. I loved every moment of my bowling experience. I loved the crazy velcro bowling shoes. I loved waiting for my bright green ball to pop back up from the ball return. I loved watching my ball knock from side to side and eventually, after a very long wait hit the pins. I really thought I was an expert! I made muscle arms, got down on all 4's and did a boogie dance (some kind of imitation moonwalk) right there in the bowling alley every time the ball left my hands. Mom had to capture these moments on video--I was being me and having such a good time doing it. By the way, some of these moves might have been picked up from the endless hours of Michael Jackson videos running on television. If we turned it on...there he was. I know the man by name and can even sing a few lines here and there. Mom and dad grew up dancing to the same songs. Dad had his very own jacket and glove. Good or bad, he was a very talented musician and I love to rock AND bowl! So, check out our scores...mom was so thankful for the bumpers. She will bowl on my team anyday. And, I have to admit that the ramp I used really was a huge help. It gave my ball the "umph" it needed to make it to the pins. There is nothing more upsetting to a bowler than to see his ball stuck in the middle of the lane. Well, then again, I did love pushing the reset button--way too much!
When the first game ended I was already tearing up. I begged for another game and mom gave in--another $9 dollars and some odd change later we were bowling again. More fun, just no sun. Is anyone else shocked at the price to bowl? We thought we were in for some inexpensive fun...wrong...it was loads of fun, but not inexpensive. I can't wait to get back. I really want a red ball next time. Care to challenge me?
