JAM SESSION!...
At least a few times a week I take the opportunity to JAM! I've been taking music at Gymboree since I was 6 months old. I think my lessons are paying off. Dad says I can take guitar lessons in a few years. I can't wait!

Playing in your undies is always best!

ANIMAL PLANET!...
It was wild out there! We fought the traffic and then the parking, but we finally got to the big event. I walked up on stage (through the mud) with mom to claim my big prize. Everyone got to see my picture with Buster on the big screen. They ewwed and aahhhed, but I don't think it was for Buster...he is not so cute. Grandma filmed the whole thing. Both my grandmas got to go with me to see the bug house and check out a few dogs on the way. Buster would have had fun, but it was just too hot for him out there. We stopped to take a picture with this dog instead and then Grandma bought me and mom a snowcone. YUM! It hit the spot! Mom is so excited about taking me to get my new fish. Too bad it was storming this afternoon. I will post more pics of me with my new fish when I can.

HOT DOGS!

DOG WRANGLER...
I won a contest with Animal Planet. Mom submitted my picture and ta-da (thanks Uncle Jeff!) If only they knew what it took to get this picture...even without a smile. Let's just say lots of cheese puffs were awarded to me and to Buster. Sassy was not interested in either one of us or the awards so she sat out this time. I get to claim my prizes at the park tomorrow. I won a 250 dollar gift certificate to Pets Mart, a year supply of cat food and a year supply of cat litter. I guess Sassy won after all. Mom is hoping that I can get an aquarium with my prize money. I have wanted fish since the day I was born...this may be my chance!

Good boys!

LOVERS LANE!...
Julia came to play and we decided to go for a drive, together of course. We always have fun when Julia, the tornado, comes over. We literally play with every toy in the house. Beep, beep. We have places to go! I eventually got out and pushed Julia around the house. We did a lot of crashing, but she did not mind. When she was ready to get out I even opened her door. Mom was so proud of me! (We won't talk about the times she climbed through the windows of the car.) Our moms are just hoping we stay sweethearts!

So sweet!

ZOOBILEE!...
We had fun at the Zoobilee. We met Collin, Trevor, Wesley and their moms at the zoo for the member's celebration! I saw the grizzley bear for the first time and enjoyed seeing my friends and my cousin too. The weather was not the best and thunder, lightening and lots of rain soon made our visit into an adventure. Mom and Aunt Carley decided to make a stop into the gift shop...whoops! That is when the rains came. We were trapped! Mom tried to make the best of it by taking silly pictures. After a long wait, we bought a jumbo umbrella and made our way back to the car. YEA mom! I stayed dry! Mom always wondered what it would be like at the zoo on a rain day...now she knows and only wants to visit again when the sun is out.

Having fun and acting silly in the giftshop!

THE 3 TALL TAYLORS...
Grandpa Taylor was back in town. We had fun visiting with him. We went to dinner at our favorite local spot, Barton Springs Grill. I wore shorts! When it was time for him to go I was a little sad, but we are going to make plans to visit the Dallas family soon.

Say Cheese!

ASIAN INFLUENCE...
Mom says I am part Asian. When she was expecting me she had some serious cravings for Daniel Wong's Chinese Food in Bellaire. Everytime she was on that side of town she stopped to eat. I think it has carried over. I still love Chinese food! I ate at my first buffet last month and loved the vegetable rice, chicken with vegetables, eggroll and noodles. I have had it again since then and still loved every bite!
When we visited the Children's Museum last week we had a treat! They were celebrating Asia and the culture. I used chop sticks to move noodles (yarn) and vegetables (colored packing peanuts) from one bowl to another bowl. Mom was impressed with my fine motor skills and I was belly laughing at myself and my accomplishments. I really enjoyed working with the 2 young volunteers too. They made these noodles even more exciting with their added interest. Mom wasn't sure that I would be able to pick anything up with these rookie stix, but I kept trying until I was successful. I did it! Time and again I used the sticks and moved the pieces. When it was time to pick up mom was shocked for a second time. I put all of the noodles in one bowl and all of the vegetables in a different bowl. WOW! That is a high level skill for a tot! We had lots of fun exploring our Asian influence. Chinese anyone?

Chip, chop, chop sticks!

SPLASH PARTY!...
Collin turned 2 and that meant that we had a reason to celebrate! He had a splash party! I was just getting over my ear infections, but I did not want to miss out so we headed to Pearland for the celebration. It took me a few minutes to warm up to the new faces, but when I did I had a blast! I loved the jumbo spray ball and the beach balls too. Mom let me try a piece of cookie cake and my first juice pack too. YUM! After checking out all of Collin's presents and crying a bit when I had to return them it was time to paint the fence (with water of course.) What a great idea! I have painted lots of things around my house now. Bricks, concrete, the garage door and more...they all make a wonderful canvas.

I had a great time Collin. Thanks for inviting me!

A VERY HOT DAY WITH THE ANIMALS!...
It was Saturday and mom and I headed to the zoo. Little did we know just how HOT it would be. Thank goodness for sunscreen, mosquito repellant and snowcones. We could not have survived without them.
Now that I am getting a bit bigger I am really enjoying the children's zoo. I love to get face to face with the animals. This time I found the pigs and the cows too. At the petting zoo, I brushed those goats time and again and even hunted down the ones that were hiding under the benches. I did not want them to miss out on the fantabulous grooming! I must have gone back to the brush basket 4 times to find the perfect brush for each goat. Mom made sure my hands got clean after this fun session!
It was a great day for the splash zone! I'm still not a big fan of water squirting up at me though. I preferred to relax by the water, watch the big kids run around and splash and walk in the water puddles. There was a chair just my size and a fish that really caught my attention. Then, just like that, I was ready to go. I grabbed mom's hand and pulled her right out of there. I make my mind up and that is that. It was time to change and take a quick break and some A/C in the reading nest. On the way out, mom bought me my first snowcone. WOW! I loved that ice. That is what I call cold things like water and well ice. It was great to cool me down, but man it ever lead to a disaster later. Ice melts and I was not happy about that. A hot, tired baby does not want his ice to melt! We had a melt down at the car. Not only the snowcone participated. It leaked and I cried. Mom tried to "save it," but I knew there was no hope. The snowcone had died!

My first snow cone. I called it "ICE."

I STUCK MY FOOT IN MY MOUTH!...
This is a great before and after! I was showing mom and dad the capacity of my lungs and exactly how I could use my voice. They both work well. I was showing off a little :) Then, I decided to stop I plugged that hole with my foot. Can you do that? Maybe next time they will pick a restaurant a bit faster. Traffic at dinner time is not a good choice!
What do toes taste like? I'm starving!

SHREK 3... MY FIRST MOVIE!...

I was ready to go! Mom and dad knew there would be NO WAY I could or should watch an entire movie, but the idea of going sounded fun to me. Tinsel Town here we come! I like Donkey the best. He always makes me laugh, but I would recgonize that big green guy anywhere. I even know him by the script his name is written in. Does that wow you? Mom and I spent a lot of time in the arcade before we decided we had to go back and get dad. I was ready to show him my skills on the motorcycle and then get going. So much for the movie. I'll try again in a year or two :) Don't tell me what happens!

VrRRRoooM!

18 MONTH CHECK UP!...
I'm the perfect picture of an 18 month old! I am 34.5 inches tall. I weigh 28 and 1/4 pounds
(both in the 90th percentile) and my head is 50 cm (off the chart.) Gotta love those brains! I can stack blocks, try to dress myself and pick out my clothes too. I can feed myself everything from grilled cheese to yogurt, applesauce to fruit. I can make requests and of course have an attitude at times when things do not go my way. I can walk backwards, turn in circles, climb stairs and run. I can play in the room with other children, but I still like to have mom near. Mom can't remember what else the nurses asked her, but her answers were yes, yes, yes. I can do it all these days including taking my bandaid off of my leg and relocating it to my head for my picture. I pointed to my leg and called it a bo-bo then moved the bandaid to other parts of my body. Mom just wanted my "shot picture," but these days this fit my personality anyway.
The doctor was worried that I might have strep because my throat was red. My test was negative, but one week later we were back in her office. I have 2 bulging ear infections and strep throat too. Mom is taking me back to see Dr. Albright at Texas Children's on June 19th. Hopefully my ears will be clear and then we can talk about tubes. I guess mom's hope to avoid them is not working out so well. Please keep me in your prayers and mom too...she is always worried about me!

I think my head hurts too

UNCLE DOT IS 19!...
We went to Los Cucos to celebrate Uncle Dot's 19th birthday. We had a great meal and then it was time for dessert. Some of us had fried icecream and sopapias and others ate whipped cream. Uncle Jeff was not being so nice...I did not like seeing Dot's face look like that! The rest of the table was laughing; I was screaming! What happened to him? Don't do that to me!

Happy Birthday Uncle Dot!

I'M WATCHING YOU!...
Dad colored some silly eyes to put on my pop up tent, but I liked them better on me!

Silly stuff

SUMMER DAYS!...
These are the days that mom lives for! We have so much fun together! We got outside of the Tot Spot today. We ventured into new areas of the children's museum and then into the art room too. I loved to paint! Mom was shocked because I knew exactly what to do. She helped me into my smock and then I was a little expert. I sat in a big boy chair at the easel and I used one brush at a time, returned them to their containers (mostly to the right color) and watched as each stroke moved across the paper. Mom promised that she and dad would start saving to buy an art easel and paints for the house. I painted 2 beautiful pictures that are now waiting to be framed. The 1st was created with only brush strokes and the 2nd included some finger painting and a hand print too. Mom loves my creative side! She hopes that I will have dads artistic capabilities. Mom is no artist, but she tries to encourage my abilities anyway.
Back inside the museum I got to milk a cow and check out the baby chicks too. I remembered these from the oil ranch so I knew just what to do. I milked the cow like a pro and all by myself. The "milk" was flowing right into the bucket. I was pretty excited! Then mom and I headed to the grocery store area. I worked in the meat market and handed fresh fish and chicken to mom. Then, I quickly changed occupations so I could also be the sales clerk and ring her up at the register. There were lots of fun things to see and touch and I wanted try it all!
More fun days to come!

MY OTHER SIDE...
Memorial Day was rainy. We had big plans that included a giant pool and waterfall at Al's and lots of great food, but we got stuck inside for the most part. We had a chance to swim between rain episodes, but the water was SO COLD...dad would not even get in. I clung to mom and fussed at the thought of getting in that water. The best part of the day--THE FRUIT SALAD--yummy! I tried to get my hands on a few imported pieces of glass that Al had on display around his house, but Aunt Kaci moved them just in time. My cousin Wesley and I will have to come up with a better plan next time. Just wait. Two little guys move lots faster than those adults.
Mom, dad and I stopped by to see Pepe before the events got going. Lucky for us, Dolly and Aunt Sandy stopped by too. It was a quick visit, but I loved to see my other side.

Pepe loves his Little Man--I always smile for him!

MONKEY BIZZNESS...
We met my friend Austin and his parents at the jump house. We had a blast! Mom and dad got some much needed exercise and we got to spend time as a family too. Just what we all wanted! It was a great way to spend a Sunday. Mom and dad tried to knock eachother out with the boxing gloves. I had to step in and ring the bell. Don't tell dad, but I think mom won! Dad helped me climb to the top of a mountain and then we slid down the giant slide too. I even took a few turns climbing up and sliding down by myself. Mom was a little reluctant, but I did it! We were all EXHAUSTED after a few hours. We had all climbed, jumped, bounced, slid and run until we could do no more--Dad had rope burn down his leg and mom couldn't figure out why her knees hurt so bad--It's a good thing I'm in shape because those 2 are falling apart! We want to go back soon!

WHEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeee!
